I firmly believe the real reason for the recession is greed in the ranks of the politicians and the very rich. Honesty, integrity and ethics are absolutely not being practiced by them. Just for starters, I would like every one who reads this to send me an e-mail if they really believe that the two senators, who did not pay their taxes, really did not know they didn't. Wall Street, the financial banking biggies, and the list goes on, pulled a scam on the public and still some got their bonuses and very high salaries. Priorities Upside Down During my 12-year tenure as a state legislator in New Hampshire, I had the responsibility at one point to serve as chairman of the House Committee on State Institutions in order to oversee the operation and standards of our Youth Development Center (YDC) along with other state facilities. In regard to Sarah Palin and all the attention focused on her, I have to wonder, when did we start treating politicians like celebrities? More and more it seems we act as if these people are somehow better than the common person. And the last thing these egotistical people need is celebrity status. Sarah Palin is a virtual unknown. She has very little experience in politics, and has yet to speak honestly about her beliefs. In the ads and interviews so far, she has simply followed a script. In the matter of her brother-in-law trooper, why doesn't she just say, "Yes, I tried my best to remove him from his job. He's a bully and actually threatened my family with physical violence.
