For Gulfside Regional Hospice patients and their families, however, that would be an underestimation of the therapeutic benefits Marilyn Peck has brought about with her innovative use of photographs. It happens every holiday season. People consumed by their day-to-day lives take notice of others less fortunate and want to help. Food, clothing and cash donations are always welcome at social service agencies. But many residents long to roll up their sleeves and give back to their communities, to be a part of something bigger than themselves, to set examples for their children. U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, served in the Iowa Legislature for 15 years before being elected to the U.S. House in 1974 and the U.S. Senate in 1980.
