Regarding "City May Raise Garbage Rates" (front page, Feb. 14): Instead of raising fees for garbage collection, I would propose that the city of Tampa could save millions by simply cutting back collection to one day a week. I've lived in a small town, a small city and the seventh-largest city in the country and have never had garbage collected twice a week in any of these locations. Why do we need to collect trash twice a week in Tampa? ...more
