I have watched, listened and read with tongue in cheek as the spin doctors of our two respective presidential candidates seek to discredit and vilify each other. Is anyone else getting sick and tired of the mud slinging and negativity employed in politics from the national on down to the local level? I think you are! I recently had an appointment at the West Palm Beach V.A. hospital, where I used my time between exams to talk a little politics with other vets. What I found was nearly all are feeling betrayed by our own government, frustrated by the outsourcing of our jobs overseas, angry with our faulty immigration policy, and wondering when our elected leaders are going to start listening to "we the people." ...more

It is truly disgusting how the political campaigns for the one of the most prestigious offices on this planet have digressed into outrageous smear campaigns. Those of us who were formally trained in professional sales were always taught to sell the features and benefits of our own products without ever mentioning the competition. Do theses candidates have so little to propose that their best election pitch is make us believe they are the lesser of two evils, or do these people have so little faith in the intelligence of the average American that they feel this is the only way to communicate? ...more

A Mason-Dixon poll released this morning on NBC's "Today" show, showed that if the presidential election was held today, Florida voters slightly favored Sen. Barack Obama over Sen. John McCain. The difference was 2 percentage points, and the margin for error in the poll of 625 randomly selected "likely voters" was 4 points. Overall, the poll showed that 47 percent of the survey would vote for Obama and 45 percent for McCain. ...more
