Time doesn't stand still in the National Football League, but Joey Galloway does. At least that's how it has been lately for the guy who made a name as the fastest receiver for the Bucs. He is apparently healthy - normally big news – but it hasn't mattered. He has lost his job to Antonio Bryant, so Galloway has been on the sideline for all but a few plays of recent games. ...more

PLAYER OF THE GAME Jeff Garcia took a beating Sunday. He was sacked six times and he lost two fumbles, including one that helped the Lions build their 17-point first-quarter lead. Without Garcia, though, the Bucs probably don't beat back the Lions and win this game. Though he admits he was sloppy at times, there were also times when Garcia was as precise as a hand-crafted timepiece. He finished the game with a 137.5 passer rating that was largely a result of the fact he completed 13 of 18 passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns and was not picked off. His biggest plays came in the second quarter, when he solved the Bucs' red zone problems by making sure they scored before they got there. With pressure in his face on both plays, Garcia found Ike Hilliard 36 yards downfield for one score and Jerramy Stevens 24 yards downfield for another that proved to be the game-winner. ...more

Most of us have the Bucs pretty well nailed after all these years, I think. We know about the defense. We know they don't have much firepower on offense. And above all, we know that when they fall 21 points behind as they did here Sunday, they are toast. Finished. Splatt-o. ...more

Player Of The Game It wasn't just the numbers that Antonio Bryant produced that made him the MVP of this game, it was when and how he produced them. Two of Bryant's team-leading eight catches converted third downs into first downs, one set up the Bucs' first field goal and another was the touchdown that allowed the Bucs to tie the score with a 2-point conversion. There was also a catch for 16 yards that would have proved critical had the drive not resulted in a fumble. Bryant's first catch might have been his best. It was a one-handed grab along the left sideline as he fought off the defense of cornerback Maurice Leggett. Bryant beat Leggett on his touchdown catch as well, that one coming on a long toss into the end zone (imagine that) in the fourth quarter. Bryant's catches accounted for 115 yards of offense for the Bucs, who needed to be a pass-first team to get back in the game. ...more

Joey Galloway was finally back, commanding everyone's attention. But when Sunday afternoon's game was there to be won, Bucs quarterback Jeff Garcia didn't see him streaking toward the end zone. And it was like a cloud that hung over Texas Stadium, when the Cowboys escaped with a 13-9 victory against the Bucs. ...more
