SEBRING — The City Pier Beach remains closed today following the drowning Saturday afternoon of a 23-year-old man. Bobby Clark swam beyond the marked swimming area at the park and experienced a cramp before going under, police said. His body was recovered around 3 p.m. by emergency personnel divers. I am writing this letter in hopes that it will reach all of the special people who were there for Bill and I during our journey together. Our family could not begin to tell everyone how much we appreciated all the special words of encouragement, prayers, cards, or anything you did to help carry us along. Whatever you did to console our hearts We thank you so much whatever the part. ...more

Good workers are concerned about layoffs and the general economic outlook is dismal. All of us are affected and it's not a pleasant situation. That said, most of us know that better days are coming. The difficulty is hanging on until then. ...more

We have had a fire so hot, so big, it lit up Sebring on the dark night. Our business turned into a frantic fight to save the buildings that were not being burnt up by this fierce fire. The Sebring firefighters risked life and limb to keep the fire from spreading and putting us out of business. If it wasn't for the fine supervision of the brave men fighting a very frightening fire, our business would have been completely destroyed. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts. Words cannot express our feelings, and we thank God for these heroes. ...more
