On behalf of the Family Readiness Group of the Bravo Battery National Guard unit in Avon Park, and the group Touched By Angels, we would like to extend our gratitude to all of those who donated to our fundraiser yard sale which was held at the armory on Sept. 19. Many people within our community graciously donated items they no longer needed to help our soldiers during the upcoming Christmas holiday. Not only did we receive donations of goods for the yard sale, but also monetary donations as well. There were quite a few people who weren't aware of the situation our local guardsmen are in and were more than happy to donate to such a good cause. ...more

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our city of Sebring and Highlands County law enforcement. For those who do no know, Caddy Shack Bar and Grill was broken into and thanks to the Highlands Today delivery driver who was delivering the paper, noticed the broken window and called the police, who quickly responded to the scene. ...more
