I am a taxpaying voter, veteran and one that loves this country. I do, however, expect to get what I pay for! Our government is charged with ensuring my right to representation as a U.S. citizen. This right has been guaranteed to me by the U.S. Constitution. Anyone who believes that Tom Daschle, who by the way has an ego as big as a semi, willingly withdrew his nomination, well, I have a bridge to sell you. It is obvious that the firestorm caused by the Geithner tax cheating exposure and Obama's subsequent holding fast, that nomination could not be duplicated. The Daschle nomination was a no-win situation growing worse daily by every newsroom definition. ...more
