NEW PORT RICHEY - Jennifer Hill, the early morning meteorologist for News Channel 8, will headline the 2009 Hurricane Expo this morning, Saturday.
"Protecting What Matters Most" will be the theme of the free public safety event, which will be presented from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. May 30 at the New Port Richey Recreation and Aquatics Center, 6630 Van Buren St.
The city of New Port Richey, The Suncoast News and News Channel 8 will help stage the expo.
Hill is scheduled to speak to expo visitors about 11 a.m. about preparations for the Atlantic hurricane season, from June 1 to Nov. 30.
The expo also will allow residents to speak one on one with Pasco County Emergency Management and Animal Services officials. Spectators can get information at many public safety and vendor displays.
Weather radios will be given away in drawings. Free hot dogs will be served to visitors.
