Anclote Bait and Tackle, 727-945-1808: Sand Bay, just south of Gulf Harbors, has been giving up some reds to about 18 inches. Fish have been tailing around oyster bars there, with some being found along the mangroves. Live pinfish, Gulp Strips on jigs and shrimp have been working well.

Salonika's Bait and Tackle, 727-849-6377: Anglers have been reporting finding reds and trout from Hudson to Anclote Key. The reds have been along the oyster bars and mangroves all along the coast, with the trout a bit deeper over grass bottom. Filman's Bayou has been giving up some snook, from undersized to in about 30 inches. Live shrimp and sardines have been tops.

Dunedin Bait and Tackle, 727-736-3474: The southeastern end of Honeymoon Island, around the Pet Beach area, has been good for silver trout and whiting. Both have been running 10 to 14 inches, taking live and frozen shrimp well. Some have been landed on Doc's Goofy Jigs tipped with shrimp.

Holy Mackerel Tackle, 727-547-9889: An angler fishing the back of Caladesi Island, in the shallows, reported taking a pair of snook to 30 inches. Both fish were tight to the mangroves there, taking live sardines.

Pier 60, 727-462-6466: Mackerel fishing has been on, with fish 18 to 22 inches taking spoons and live shrimp or sardines. Lots of bait has been around the pier, which is drawing the mackerel. Silver trout to 14 inches and some whiting to 12 inches are being caught. Frozen shrimp is all you need. Spotted trout to 20 inches have been taking shrimp and jigs with Gulp Strips. The night bite and around first light has been best. The flounder bite has been unusually good. Fish 12 to 15 inches have been taken in fair numbers. Live shrimp and small, live sardines on jigs bounced on the bottom have been producing.

Redington Long Pier, 727-391-9398: A few kings to about 40 inches have been hooked. Live Mackerel to about 13 inches have been top baits when fished at the end of the pier off outriggers. Live pumpkin seeds caught under the pier have been another top bait. Some snook to about 31 inches have been landed, along with under and oversized fish. The outgoing tide and live pinfish has been the winning formula. Mackerel have been around in good numbers, with fish 12 to 14 inches average, and a few larger. Some pompano are being landed.

Clearwater Bait and Tackle, 727-669-5455: Anglers fishing on the northwestern end of the Courtney Campbell Causeway have been reporting good numbers of trout. Fish to 22 inches have been landed on shrimp and sardines fished under popping corks. A few pompano have been caught under the big bridge on the causeway, with large fish to 18 inches reported. Shrimp pieces on jigs have been tops. A few reds to 24 inches were caught off Cooper's Point north of the western end of the causeway. Live shrimp has been best, though gold spoons have taken some.
