Gulfside Hospice To Add Unit At Trinity Center

TRINITY - Gulfside Regional Hospice will open an in-patient unit at Trinity Regional Rehab Center this April.

Gulfside Center at Trinity is the nonprofit agency's first in-patient partnership in Pasco County.

The addition to the rehabilitation center at 2144 Welbilt Blvd. will serve terminally ill patients who are no longer benefiting from curative care, yet cannot be adequately managed at home. Gulfside's staff will work in the center, which will have its own entrance at Trinity Rehab.

"Trinity Regional Rehab Center is well known in our community," Linda Ward, Gulfside's president and CEO, said in a press release. "I think Gulfside's presence at their facility will enhance their excellent reputation, and their reputation will enhance ours as well."

Treatment provided for these patients focuses on palliative care, which is the treatment of physical and emotional pain and symptoms to enhance comfort and overall quality of life.
