NEW PORT RICHEY - The 11- and 12-year-olds of the West Pasco White Sox brought home first-place honors during last weekend's West Pasco Little League District 12 Mid-Season Tournament.
Their 13-1 championship game victory over the Holiday Mets sealed West Pasco Little League's first-ever win during the annual tournament.
The youngsters dominated during their six games, outscoring opponents by a commanding 59-7 margin. Tyler Hawks, Blaize Grabowski and Harrison Keslar led the White Sox at the plate and on the mound, with multiple other key contributors.
The trio hit for a combined 36 hits, 34 RBI's and five home runs. They struck out 20 opposing hitters and earned four of the White Sox six wins.
White Sox Coach Dave Grabowski said many players stepped up in key situations throughout the three-day tournament, especially after Elliott Desvergnes was shelved after one game due to injury.
Chris Johnson and Justin Katz logged 7 2/3 strong innings while toeing the rubber. As a team, White Sox pitches combined for a microscopic 0.67 ERA.
The team defense was equally as stellar, committing only four errors all weekend.
