TRINITY - Camp K9, a doggie day care and lodging center in Trinity, will be holding a Pet Wellness Fair on Saturday to promote proper maintenance for the furrier friends of families.
The event is open to the public 1 - 4 p.m. and a veterinarian from Trinity Pet Hospital will be on hand to administer free dental exams and answer questions. A special price on pet microchipping - the injection of a microchip to help detect lost animals - will also be offered for $35.
Michele Crumbliss, co-owner of Camp K9, said the microchips are unlimited, but interested parties should call ahead of time to reserve a device.
Upward to 12 sponsors are involved with the event and many will be vending their products on site.
"It's should be a fun day," Crumbliss said. "It's an outside event for dog owners to see some different vendors all in one place and raise money for a good cause. Plus, they can get their dog examined by a vet right here."
All funds collected at the fair will go to Friends of Animal Services, a not-for-profit organization that itself raises money for dogs in the Pasco County animal shelter.
Camp K9 is located on 2944 Defuniak Street in Trinity. For more information, call 727-375-9995 or visit www.MyCampK9.com.
