I've been wondering: What if the federal government gave each of America's 305 million people $1 million of his or her money back? Perhaps this would solve a lot of problems.
Each person would have a credit waiver for his or her $1 million. It could only be spent on healthcare, housing, U.S.-manufactured energy-efficient vehicles, college and other essentials.
AIG and other big spenders would have to downgrade their operations to a number emulating their beginnings and start afresh. Who knows how AIG is spending the money it is getting.
Investors who speculated and missed their aim should also start anew.
