The current news from Tallahassee is the need for more revenue. Obviously, we all would like to have more money. The state must prioritize its needs, such as education, police and fire protection. It must give serious thought to reducing the rest of the state's expenditures.
About 18 months ago, the governor signed an agreement with the Seminole Indians that would yield dollars to the state. Politics got in the way, and this pact was not agreed to by certain members of the government. The Indians are keeping up their end of the deal and the funds are in the bank.
Politics aside, these dollars are desperately needed. So, Tallahassee, get off your fat rear end and approve that agreement and the future plans for the Tampa Hard Rock Casino. This would provide jobs, and revenue all to the benefit of Florida.
