As a volunteer at the New Port Richey Public Library I have seen many of the activities of the library, patrons and staff during the last two years. In my experience the staff is always helpful and polite to patrons.
It is true, as a letter to the editor in your Feb. 25 editions stated, that the library is not a silent place, but that is because it is an active place. Students, young and old, mingle with new moms and their kids who mingle with job seekers and those looking for the latest movies, CDs and books. What an institution. Organized to give each user an hour on a computer if needed, the library's technology insures fairness in a business-like manner.
Where would our community be without our library? Let's support it in a positive way with a bit of patience when we are using its many services.
