Regarding Rich Lowry's June 13 op-ed page column, I am sure the Chinese laughed, and not just because they hold a large part of the U.S. deficit but also because they have acquired most U.S. manufacturing jobs. So I am sure the Chinese are having a good laugh.
Americans not only lost their jobs to China, but now also pay for the items made there. So China gets a double bubble in income. China can afford to lend the U.S. money, but it is money from the pockets of good, honest, hard-working U.S. citizens. If I lived in China, I would be laughing too.
As far as the rest of Lowry's comments regarding health care, get off the president's back. This man is trying to fix the tumbling effects of years and years of bad decisions, Democratic and Republican alike, along with the incessant greed that permeates big business.
We get it out here, which is why the president's approval rating is so high. Mr. Lowry obviously does not.
