TARPON SPRINGS - A youngster attending Tarpon Springs summer recreation camp has recovered from a confirmed case of swine flu.
According to a city spokeswoman, the child's family pediatrician confirmed the case. The child has recovered and been cleared to participate in camp activities by the family doctor.
The youngster, who name was not released, was quarantined last week after symptoms appeared and remained out of camp while the diagnosis was confirmed.
Camp areas and equipment were sanitized to prevent potential spread. Hand sanitizers and hand washing is being encouraged.
Parents were advised of the confirmed case and encouraged to keep children home if they show signs of flulike symptoms.
This is the final week of the summer camp. Activities will proceed as planned, the city spokeswoman said.
