LAKE BUENA VISTA - The West Florida Young Guns U9 baseball team proved itself to be not simply the state's greatest, but the best in all the land.

The Young Guns' season of superlatives ended at Disney's Wide World of Sports on Aug. 5 with another – winning the 2009 AAU National Championship.

Along with going undefeated in its age group, the Suncoast-based team won a USSSA U10 tournament and placed second in three other competitions against teams from older brackets.
