NEW PORT RICHEY - A West Pasco man who is a convicted felon landed in jail again Thursday.
He was discovered growing 97 marijuana plants, trafficking in prescription drugs and possessing 185 rounds of 9mm ammunition and is facing a variety of charges, according to the Sheriff's Office.
As of Friday afternoon John P. Caceres, 42, 8901 Marigold Drive, remained in custody at the Land O' Lakes jail with bail set at $80,150, according to Sheriff's Office reports.
An undercover detective obtained a search warrant for Caceres' residence, according to an arrest affidavit.
Besides the pot plants, investigators also found more than 20 grams of loose marijuana, nine pills of the prescription drug hydrocodone, seven pills of oxycodone, methamphetamine inside a smoking pipe, cocaine residue inside a straw and the ammunition, the report states.
Because Caceres had been convicted on previous bank robbery charges it was illegal for him to have the ammunition, according to the affidavit.
Sheriff's Office files also show Caceres was arrested Feb. 23, 2006, for cultivation of marijuana and other drug offenses.
Following his latest arrest Caceres is facing felony counts of cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine, possession of cocaine, being a felon in possession of ammunition, trafficking in hydrocodone and possession of a controlled substance. In addition he faces a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
