NEW PORT RICHEY - The test of any creative person is the ability to evolve and nurture his or her creativity through time. With that in mind, the Progress Energy Art Gallery will present the photography of Joseph Constantino in an exhibit titled "Photography - From Darkroom to Digital."

The exhibit at the downtown gallery begins Friday, Feb. 6, with an artist's reception starting at 6 p.m. The exhibit will be on display through its March 20 closing party.

Constantino is a winter resident of the area from Commack, N.Y. A member of the New Port Richey-based Chasco Camera Club, Constantino is a former music teacher with a passion for travel.

Constantino has been taking photographs for 45 years. His Progress Energy Gallery exhibit will capture his work in the craft from infrared through traditional film work to digital media, which should attract a wide audience.

"It was traveling that first got me interested in photography," Constantino is quoted as saying in a press release. Street scenes, nature and infrared photography are his primary areas of interest, he noted.

The work of other photographers, including Lloyd Johnson, Jessica Nicoll, Paula Showen, Stratis Simon, Karren Doll Tolliver and Ron Walsh, will be included in the exhibit.

Also on display will be the work of 7,65 Foto. The photography club from the Czech Republic will present its "Point of View" compilation of photos its members created during a recent project.

Tolliver, the Progress Energy Gallery director, took part in the project. It involved photographing Czech social organizations and culminated in the project being exhibited in Europe.
