NEW PORT RICHEY - After two previous sold-out shows here, Gaelic Storm will return this Saturday with their upbeat vocals, energetic dance tunes, Celtic ballads and Irish madcap humor, organizers say.
The Irish crowd-pleasers will appear at 8 p.m. Jan. 24 in the Performing Arts Center on the West Campus of Pasco-Hernando Community College, 10230 Ridge Road, New Port Richey.
Gaelic Storm continues to broaden the musical horizons of the Celtic music genre, according to Courtney Boettcher, PHCC marketing coordinator. Their original arrangements are immersed in Irish traditional melody and acoustic instrumentation combined with their blend of world rhythms.
In 1997 Gaelic Storm first catapulted out of the neighborhood pub scene into international success thanks to an appearance as the "party band" in the steerage scene of the blockbuster film "Titanic."
Their new album "What's The Rumpus?" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard World Chart after its first week on sale.
Ticket prices are $30, $27 and $23. Tickets are available online at www.phcc.edu/tix, by phone at 727-816-3707, or in person at PHCC's West Campus college store from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Performing Arts Center Box Office will open one hour before show time.
