NEW PORT RICHEY - A Senior Information Fair will be held Saturday in conjunction with the weekly Downtown Farmers Market in New Port Richey.

Greater New Port Richey Main Street will put on the fair 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 24 at the Cavalaire Square stage. The stage area is adjacent to Railroad Square, east of Grand Boulevard between Nebraska and Missouri avenues.

Local experts will speak about concerns of seniors over health and financial well being, according to Judy DeBella Thomas, executive director of the downtown-boosting Main Street organization.

At last count, more than 17 information vendors will supply answers to financial planning, wills and trusts, health maintenance and diet, and many other topics.

Pat Ammons of Capstone Mortgage, an affiliate of Wells Fargo, is the coordinator for the event. She specializes in reverse mortgages, which she will discuss at the fair.

"We see weekly Downtown Market as a terrific venue for disseminating information, sort of a 'grapevine' if you will," Thomas said in a press release. "We thank Ms. Ammons for stepping forward on this event, and look forward to 'the Market Grapevine' growing into a regular part of our downtown market."

Topics in the future could include lectures on gardening, food preparation, a bicycle clinic, hurricane preparation, cake decorating, as well as community garage sales.

More information may be obtained by calling the Main Street office at 727-842-8066.
