Once again thieves have targeted Covenant Christian Church. This time they broke into the church by kicking in and destroying doors. By breaking into desk drawers they stole the Sunday collection.
Because of a high deductible our insurance covers neither the damage nor the stolen money.
Our church has been serving our community for decades. We have been God's had extended to the needy, providing food and clothing for up to 300 families per month. Each Thanksgiving, and again at Christmas, we provide food baskets with turkeys and all the trimmings to 300 families. We are not a large congregation, but with the generosity of our people and some other churches that donate to our pantry we are able to continue doing God's work. We pray thanks to him for his provisions and those who do his bidding.
Our congregation will pray for the thieves who stole God's provisions for his needy. May they come to know the Lord's saving grace.
We are determined to continue doing the work to which God has called us. We are, however, installing a security system, which is more money subtracted from the work of helping those in need.
