The writer of the Dec. 24 letter to the editor "Keep Fighting," which opposed abortion, and gay marriage and predicted public "handouts" will spiral out of control under the Obama administration, asked, "What happened to my country?"

Let me say the biggest problem is greed, from top to bottom. Why blame Barack Obama when we all should be looking in the mirror.

If, as the letter claims, 90 percent of Americans are Christians, why are they not in unity? Why are some of the youths of Christians too good to break a sweat and pick up a shovel or a hammer? Talk about the reason for hiring illegal aliens. We have become greedy and lazy.

Why are some business owners still buying and driving big SUVs and dual-cab pickups? Ego and greed.

Too many Christians and non-Christians alike are uninformed about Democrats and Republicans. Most politicians will side with the groups that contribute the most money and corporations run the country.

If you're going to put up a real fight you'll have to do it through an independent party. If we continue to do the same things will get the same things.
