Gulfside Hospice Calendar Photos Selected

NEW PORT RICHEY - Area shutterbugs submitted more than 400 Pasco nature photos to a contest to illustrate the 2009 calendar of Gulfside Regional Hospice.

The calendars, $7.50 each, are on sale at all Gulfside Regional Hospice Thrift Shoppes as a benefit to raise money for programs, according to Ashley Mann, community relations coordinator for the nonprofit end-of-life care provider.

Gulfside staff and volunteers chose the winning entries for the 15-month calendar.

The winning photographers are:

•December 2008 - "Daybreak in New Port Richey," by Andrea Morrow

•January 2009 - "Butterfly in Flight," by Jeff Post

•February 2009 - "Bird Sunning," by Ryian Robertson

•March 2009 - "Sailboat Race," by Deb Harrison

•April 2009 - "Yellow Flowers," by Andrew Sibbitt

•May 2009 - "Hot Air Balloons," by Michelle Dillard

•June 2009 - "Lifeguard Stand," by Sharon Gabryszak

•July 2009 - "Flag at Gulfside Mending Hearts Kids' Camp," by Keth Luke

•August 2009 - "Beach Day," by Nicole Lee

•September 2009 - "Playing at the Beach," by Brenda Shaffer

•October 2009 - "Fall Festival," by Paula Smith

•November 2009 - "Dade City Court House," by Ashley Mann

•December 2009 - "Holiday Candles," by Marilyn Peck

•January 2010 - "Historic Moon Lake Barn," by Tim Dohrman

•February 2010 - "Downtown New Port Richey," by John Jones

All proceeds from the calendar sales are spent on patients and their families facing life-limiting illnesses in Pasco County.

Gulfside's two thrift shops are at: 3601 Universal Plaza, at Moog Road and U.S. 19, Holiday; and 12154 U.S. 19, Hudson.
