A long time ago a judge told me "90 days in city jail or 90 days at the V.A." I took the V.A. Back then, protesting war was not a terrorist act.
At the V.A. hospital I would sit by the beds of patients. Some would speak and I would run to tell a nurse what I heard. "It's the meds talking – no truth to it," I was told.
V.A. medical centers are still denying the truth, according to news reports. "Give them some Prozac and send them back. Don't diagnose post-traumatic stress disorder. We have no money for treatment.
Each of us has a conscience. Our victory is our voice.
