NEW PORT RICHEY - Capturing reflected light is a technique artists use to enhance their creations and Elaine Hahn is no exception to the rule.
Hahn has worked in watercolors for more than 25 years and her paintings have achieved prominence through acceptance and awards in major national juried exhibitions.
A collection of her works is on exhibit at the Pasco-Hernando Community College Art Gallery through March 14. The collection includes early and recent watercolors. The paintings have nautical and marine scenes, including shells and sea life.
"As an artist raised in the Midwest, the natural beauty of the coastal shoreline has always intrigues me," Hahn is quoted as saying in a press release. "I particularly like the early morning and afternoon light, which in enhance colors, creating unique and interesting reflections and shadows."
Hahn's creations are included in private and corporate collections throughout the United States and have been publishes in a number of national and international books and magazines.
Additionally, Hahn has taught and conducted workshops throughout the Southeast.
The gallery is in the Alric C.T. Pottberg Library, on PHCC West Campus, 10230 Ridge Road. Gallery hours are from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday at 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
