NEW PORT RICHEY - A Harry James and the Andrews Sisters Tribute will evoke the Big Band era during the concert on Saturday, Feb. 14.
The show will go on at 2 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center on the West Campus of Pasco-Hernando Community College at 10230 Ridge Road.
Charly Raymond of Pinellas Park recreates the distinctive style of Harry James, the legendary trumpet player and bandleader, with his Charly Raymond Orchestra.
James' band helped launch the careers of many pop music stars of the World War II era, including Frank Sinatra and Helen Forrest, and his music has been featured in countless Hollywood films.
The Apple Blossoms recreate the look, style, and classic harmonies of the Andrews Sisters with "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy," "You Made Me Love You" and "In Apple Blossom Time."
Michele James-Pruyn, Cathy Baudrit and Jenny Wayne comprise the Apple Blossoms.
The Andrews Sisters became the best-selling female vocal group in the history of popular music, setting records that remain unsurpassed to this day.
Known for their extensive entertainment for the troops, they had major hits in nearly all types of music, ranging from swing to country-western.
