Published: February 4, 2009

If West Pasco residents get an Italian lilt in their voices, don't be surprised.

The sights and sounds of Italy will come to New Port Richey in a Richey Community Orchestra concert, "That's Amore!" on Sunday, Feb. 15.

The show combines classical Italian arias and Neapolitan favorites with a visual arts presentation of scenes from Italy.

Two area entertainers, soprano Susan Falcone and tenor Scott Greenberg, will be guest soloists.

"It's music from opera to Andrea Bocelli," said Falcone, describing the numbers she and Greenberg will perform and referring to the popular Italian tenor who has recorded both classical and pop albums.

Both D'Aquino and Greenberg have sporadically performed together since they met in the Yonkers area in New York in 1992 and appeared at New York's Lincoln Center as part of the Queen City Singers.

Since then, they went their separate ways, moved to Florida and appeared in numerous regional theater productions. Greenberg also directed several musicals, and Falcone has been a featured soloist at the Palladium in St. Petersburg, Ruth Eckerd Hall, Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center and the Show Palace.

The two joined forces again last year when Greenburg became a member of Cover to Cover, a musical repertory group that does shows throughout Florida. Falcone's husband Michael D'Aquino is also a member of Cover to Cover.

At the New Port Richey program, they will do both solos and duets, including their rendition of "The Prayer," a song made popular by Bocelli and Celine Dion.

The Richey Community Orchestra will add to the Italian theme by performing "Capriccio Italien," "Songs from Italy," "Italian Folk Fantasy" and "Return to Sorrento."

The 50-member orchestra is Pasco County's only symphony orchestra. It is conducted by Karl Beaudry and Robert Boyd.
