Judging from her Jan. 21 op-ed page column, "For Obama, Nowhere To Go But Down," Marsha Mercer must be a Republican.
George W. Bush put us in the mess we're in, and President Barack Obama has to try and clean it up. We have to be optimistic about the next four year. Everyone doing their part will make a difference.
It won't be easy for Obama, and I doubt everything will be done in four years. At least a little of what Bush led us into may be changed and Obama or someone else will continue on the right track.
At first I did not want Obama but I voted for him rather than have another Republican. We must be optimistic and hope for good things to come from this new presidency.
