NEW PORT RICHEY - These stars got a chance to shine at a County Commission meeting this week.
A proclamation that commissioners adopted Tuesday congratulated the members of the West Pasco Majors Little League all-star team, which placed second in the state tournament.
"If any one of you makes it to the Major League, I'd like to be your financial adviser," Commissioner Michael Cox joked as he passed out copies of the proclamation. Cox is a professional financial planner.
The dozen Little League players, all 12 or 13 years old, steamrolled their way through to the District 12 title. They had a record of five wins and no losses in district play.
The team went on to win the Section 7 title with a 3-0 record. At state competition, the West Pasco all-stars compiled a record of 4-1 for runner-up honors.
Head Coach Dave Grabowski led the team, assisted by coaches Randy Keslar and Cory Hawks.
The players are Harrison Keslar, Ryan Glenn, Chris Chiger, Tyler Hawks, Mike Dodson, Blaize Grabowski, Elliott Desvergnes, Joe Vaccarino, Josh Lamb, Kyle Lanphear, Thomas Moschner and R.J. Johnston.
