Americans have turned complacent, lazy and greedy and take what is convenient and easy. We have children and grandchildren yet we do nothing to secure their future. We think that if we vote in Democrats or Republicans they will take care of it. If one of us loses a house or a job we blame a political party for it happening.

All along, we should have been boycotting goods from companies that leave America and demand that our retail stores sell American-made goods, even if they cost more. The American worker cannot live on $1 an hour, as workers in Asian sweatshops must.

The border with Mexico should have been sealed with concrete years ago. With the economy like it is and unemployment high, I still see companies hiring immigrants. When will we demand American workers?

I'm a business owner doing outside work and I've always had English-speaking Americans on the job and always will. Start caring and take pride again.
