I have just finished reading about the reprehensible break-in and sexual assault last week of an 89-year-old woman by three punks in Palm Terrace Gardens. Again a senior has been violated in her own home.
In May 1990 four punks invaded the home of a Regency Park couple and violated the 79-year-old wife and beat up the 80-year-old husband. Because of this incident a grassroots effort was formed and succeeded in getting laws passed in Florida to protect victims of sexual assault. Again I see the need for an outcry from the community. We are all going to get old someday and become vulnerable.
I have the same question then and now: Why do these punks think they have the right to break in and assault an elderly woman? Why is there not an outrage in this community to stop this onslaught of violence?
I look forward to reading about the trial and incarceration of the three punks arrested in connection with the attack in Palm Terrace Gardens. I hope they rot in jail of the rest of their lives.
