One Stop Bait and Tackle, 727-842-5610: Anglers fishing between Three Rooker Bar and the north end of Honeymoon Island have been taking trout 14 to 20 inches. Live shrimp and pearl white colored Gulp Strips on jig heads have been working well. The outgoing tide has been best. Dwayne from the shop landed an 18- and a 21-inch trout fishing about a mile west of the Anclote power plant on the grass flats. The fish took a 3-inch Gulp Strip in root-beer color. Several undersized fish were hooked, as well.

Dixie Lee and Bait and Tackle, 352-596-5151: Trout fishing on the deep grass flats has been good, with fish to 24 inches taking jigs well. The key depth has been about 12 feet over grass bottom west of the Weeki Wachee River. Closer to shore around the river mouth, anglers are finding some reds 23 to 24 inches around oyster bars. Live shrimp, pinfish and Gulp Strips in new penny color have been good choices.

Pier 60, 727-462-6466: Anglers making the trip to the pier have been rewarded good numbers of mangrove snapper 11 to 14 inches. Fish have been taking live shrimp and small live sardines, with the best bite after dark. The action is around submerged rocks and pier pilings. There have been some mackerel around the pier, but the schools come and go. When running, fish 12 to 15 inches have been common.

Dunedin Fishing Center, 727-738-5628: The northwest end of Honeymoon Island was the place to be for one angler, who hooked and landed a 40-pound black drum. He was fishing a live jumbo shrimp on the bottom when the big fish picked it up. He also reported taking several trout there, the largest about 18 inches. Anglers fishing along the east side of the shallow shorelines between Intracoastal Waterway between the Dunedin Causeway and the Dunedin Isles area were taking some reds to oversized on live shrimp. Fish 18 to 24 inches were most common, but a few to 30 inches have been reported. The island's Pet Beach has been turning up a few trout 17 to 20 inches on shrimp, along with root-beer Gulp Strips. The flounder bite has been on at times around the small bridge of the Dunedin Causeway. Fish 14 to 18 inches have been taking shrimp and cut greenbacks fished on sandy bottom.

Denny B's Bait and Tackle, 813-885-9811: Anglers fishing the big bridge on the Courtney Campbell Causeway have been scoring a few cobia, the largest reported being 35 inches. Berkley artificial eels in 12-inch size have been good baits. The back side of Caladesi Island has been holding some good numbers of redfish and a few snook. Reds to 24 inches have been taking live shrimp, spoons and Gulp Strips. Reports of snook to 26 inches were received.

Redington Long Pier, 727-391-9398: A lot of reds are being caught, with most fish falling in the slot range. Live shrimp and sardines on the bottom have been working, though some fish have been caught on gold spoons. Snook have been a good bet at night, with a number of oversized fish reported. Live ladyfish has been a top bait. Mangrove snapper are around in good numbers, taking shrimp after dark. A few fish have been taken during the day.
