Fire Engulfs New Port Richey Home

NEW PORT RICHEY - Pasco County firefighters are battling a house fire in progress at 5011 Beau Road.

It didn't appear anyone was in the residence, according to Capt. Brian King of Pasco Fire Rescue. No official reports, however, are yet available.

The fire started sometime before 2:30 p.m. Monday. Smoke was so thick that firefighters had to wear oxygen masks while battling the blaze.

At least eight fire trucks and ambulances converged on the fire scene north of Green Key Road, on the northeasterner corner of Beau Road and Oelsner Drive. The New Port Richey Fire Department was backing up Pasco Fire Rescue.
