Port Richey, FL - Jane Keeley, 3, and mom Colleen are frequent visitors to Lake Lisa Park in the Port Richey area.
So Pasco County commissioners invited them to help cut the ribbon at the dedication Tuesday morning of the passive park on Regency Park Boulevard near San Miguel Drive.
Rick Buckman, the director of Pasco County Parks and Recreation Department, remembered how the park site very nearly became an apartment complex early this decade. Protests of residents helped sink the apartment proposal, though.
