Published: October 25, 2008

TRINITY - Created out of the desire to help advance the study of the arts with the youth of Pasco County, the Suncoast Arts Fest will again take place May 1-3 at the corner of Starkey Boulevard and S.R. 54, Trinity.

This will mark the fourth year the event will benefit Art for Kids. Each year, funds raised go toward helping the advancement of services for visual and performing arts for children in Pasco County Schools, both public and private.

This year, funds raised will allow students to travel to Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota and allow their portfolio to be reviewed by college officials.
Suncoast Arts Fest is a production of The Fine Arts of the Suncoast Inc., a Florida nonprofit 501c3 whose mission is to promote cultural awareness in Pasco County.

The arts fest is a multi-arts event that showcases about 80 fine artists and craftsmen. As in past years, they will offer the Taste of Pasco with an estimated 15 vendors offering a variety of cuisines.

The 2008 art fest was attended by about 4,500 people.

This year, the organization has included two concerts, including a Friday community concert where the best of local talent will be showcased.

On Saturday evening, WMNF 88.5 FM Community Radio will host a concert where attendees will be able to watch the concert and be served dinner for a nominal fee.

"Pasco County continues to be a great place to live; a great place to raise a family," Fine Arts of the Suncoast Inc. director Pam Marron said. "We need to provide opportunities for people of all ages to have access to the arts, culture, and entertainment without having to go great distances, and at the same time support the businesses within our own communities."

The organization is committed to supporting its mission regardless of the economic challenges and has committed to thinking outside of the box by introducing the two nights of entertainment.

In addition, the group is working with local hotels in hopes that families will visit West Pasco and stay the weekend.

By partnering with area businesses, the organization will be better able to meet their goal, provide affordable family entertainment and give businesses the opportunity to promote and market their business prior to the event as well as the weekend of the arts fest.
Suncoast Arts Fest has put together various sponsorships opportunities that are still available.
