NEW PORT RICHEY - "Double the Hike, Double the Impact!" is the slogan for the second annual Hike for Hospice.
The 3.1-mile event on Saturday, Nov. 8, will raise money for Gulfside Regional Hospice, Jennifer York, special events coordinator for Gulfside, explained in a press release.
"This very special walk is for anyone who has lost a loved one, not just hospice families. With every step, we will be remembering someone who was important in our lives," York said in a press release.
Proceeds will help the nonprofit organization provide end-of-life care for patients in Pasco County.
Established in 1988, Gulfside serves more than 400 patients daily. It employs more than 250 professionals and has more than 400 volunteers.
The morning hike in New Port Richey starts at 8 a.m. at the New Port Richey Recreation and Aquatic Center, 6630 Van Buren St.
Intrepid supporters of Gulfside could then rush over to Zephyrhills for an afternoon hike at Zephyr Park, 38116 Fifth Ave.
The fee is $35 for adults and $15 for children 10 and under.
