I am becoming increasingly concerned about our society and how we donate money or goods to people without giving them an incentive to work. I am retired and still working part time. I collect Social Security for my work, as an investment, over a 40-year period.
Today, I see people who are trying to get free money, food, shelter and clothes and not working for them. I have seen women who have gone to Children and Families to ask how many children do they need, out of wedlock, to make ends meet? I have seen people say, "I can't work because I get more in unemployment collections than it would take me, with children, to get if working."
The politicians are talking about special programs to give those out of work a free special benefit or to pay their medical expenses but they are not considering incentives for getting people to work.
I believe that people are creative and wish to become part of the active society and no one should be hungry. We must strengthen our attitudes for making people work to get the benefits of our country. The government must demand repayment or work when giving people free bonuses.
