PORT RICHEY - No piece of art is complete without matting and framing. Whether it is a simple black or an ornamental frame it can give the final touches needed to finalize the masterpiece.
Ron Urbanovitch of No Naked Walls, at 6736 Ridge Road, New Port Richey, is sponsoring a fundraiser with proceeds benefiting the not for profit Progress Energy Art Gallery, which is located in historic downtown New Port Richey.
The family-owned art and frame business will hold the benefit, which consists of a mat and frame sale Oct. 11 and 12.
Anyone interested in purchasing frames made from professional quality frame molding and pre-cut matting is welcome to attend the event where gallery members will be on hand to assist Urbanovitch with the choosing of frames, as well as ringing-up purchases.
Hundreds of standard and odd-sized frames will be available at reduced pricing. Pricing will begin at $5 depending on the size and the frame molding. A limited number of precut mats in standards sizes will be available.
Glass and custom matting will not be included in the sale but are available to purchase. Urbanovitch, however, will donate a percentage of those sales to the gallery.
Urbanovitch and his family have been saving frame molding from overruns resulting from minimum order requirements and using those for the benefit.
"He could have disposed of the frame stock, but he made this wonderful offer to the gallery." Karren Tolliver, director of the Progress Energy Art Gallery stated.
Tolliver added, "This is yet another astounding show of support that Ron and his family have extended to the gallery."
The Progress Energy Art Gallery is a community gallery that was opened by the not-for-profit organization Greater New Port Richey Main Street. The gallery received a grant from electric utility Progress Energy Florida to encourage the growth of downtown art and culture.
