I cannot take credit for Barack Obama winning the White House, but when I saw all the tears coming out of black Americans, I could only say their time has come.
I voted for the one who was most qualified. If McCain were a little younger and a smooth-talker he would have won. Ronald Reagan won the White House because he was a smooth-talker and popular but he wasn't qualified either.
Obama is smart, so if he picks the right people to lean on, he will do just fine.
There is another person I'm more concerned about than Obama, op-ed page columnist James Hibbs.
He wrote in his Nov. 8 article passing Proposition 2, the Florida marriage protection amendment, demonstrated a callous disregard for what is fair and right and even logical.
Then he said protecting the sanctity of marriage has never meant anything because homosexuals getting married wouldn't change a single thing about marriage.
It is obvious that Hibbs does not believe in the Bible or perhaps never been to church. Whose law does he want us to believe in, man's or God's?
He should try going to church. He may become a better journalist.
