NEW PORT RICHEY - Pasco County residents can share the holiday spirit with the Be a Santa to a Senior service program.
It's a way to brighten the lives of lonely or isolated seniors in the community, Joy and Howard Cook, owners of Home Instead Senior Care, in New Port Richey, explain.
In the last three years since the corporate offices of Home Instead Senior Care initiated the program, 37,000 volunteers delivered 518,500 gifts to 318,500 seniors.
The Cooks have provided senior companionship services and home help assistance for the past eight years in Pasco and Hernando counties.
Some older residents might no longer have family or friends to share the holiday season.
Home Instead is looking for volunteers who would like to become involved by coordinating gift selections, wrapping gifts or delivering presents.
Call the New Port Richey office at 727-845-5819 for information.
