NEW PORT RICHEY -- Double dates. Romantic picnics. A five-course dinner prepared at your home. Automotive work. Handyman services. What else can a gal ask for?
The Community Service Council's sixth annual Bachelors, Baskets and Services Auction promises to be a fabulous and fun evening for all who attend.
This fundraiser will take place starting at 5:30 p.m. Friday, June 6, at Seven Springs Golf and Country Club, 3535 Trophy Blvd.
Eighteen area bachelors have agreed to hit the stage and be auctioned off, each donating unique dates to attract bidders.
The bachelors are various ages, occupations and interests and offer a variety of dates.
The date packages include dinner at the Charley's Steakhouse in Tampa followed by traveling to Ybor City and laughs at a comedy club.
A double date will also be offered on which two lucky women will be whisked away by limousine to a 38-foot yacht for a sunset cruise, dinner at Island Way Grill, on Clearwater Beach, and dancing the night away.
Chef Victor of Zen Forrest will prepare a five-course meal at his restaurant or at home. A simpler package includes a romantic picnic lunch on the beach.
For the sports-minded individual you can bid on a four-hour fishing excursion for up to four people.
In addition, 15 service-oriented items are up for auction and include automotive work, handyman services, personal training sessions and carpet-upholstery cleaning services.
There will also be a Chinese auction, including several luxurious baskets on which to bid.
The master of ceremonies for the evening will be Glenn Hanff, and a disc jockey will keep the crowd entertained through out the evening's festivities.
Attendees will enjoy delicious hors d'oeuvres prepared by Seven Springs Golf and Country Club and Carrabba's Italian Grill.
Three chocolate fountains furnished by Grandma's Candy Kitchen will be on hand for dipping a variety of items in chocolate, creating a sumptuous desert.
There will also be a cash bar.
The Community Service Council is a West Pasco-based nonprofit organization. It supports several local charities, including the Pasco Education Foundation and Operation Shoe box.
Last year's bachelor auction raised a total of $14,000.
There are a limited number of tickets still available, for $15, or $20 at the door. To purchase tickets contact Bonnie Howard at 727-364-1172.
