We Should Drill

I have been writing letters to the editor and to my U.S. senators and representatives and everyone with any influence for the past 20 years demanding that we drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and off the coast of Florida and California to no avail.

In too many cases I don't get my letters printed – no surprise there – and my elected representatives are too stupid to see the light of day.

We have no other choice. There are all of these tree-hugging environmentalist-wacko special interest groups out there, while we are sending billions of dollars to our sworn enemies in the Middle East for their overpriced oil. Instead, we could drill for oil and do things like tap the oil shale deposits in the Rocky Mountains but we are too dumb to see it.

If we could get Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her ilk to show some leadership tomorrow we would still be 5 to 10 years from a significant reduction in our dependence on foreign oil. Are you ready for $5-a-gallon gasoline? If so, just keep voting Democratic.
