A member of the elite can actually say a few months of lower fuel costs are a drop in the bucket. The automatic pay raises for our elected leaders are a drop in the bucket, too.
How can these millionaires relate to the average American? Modern politicians have adopted the Machiavellian theory, which was to advise the Italian nobility of the 1500s to, "Tell them want they want to hear but do what you want."
