TRINITY - The Fox Hollow Golf Club will look to crown its new men's and women's top golfers next month as the Club Championship gets underway July 19 and 20.
The members-only tournament costs $25 to participate and is open to all handicaps. Gross and net winners will be recognized - gross being an individual's actual total shots played, net referring to one's post-handicap score.
Donny Alston, a Fox Hollow pro shop assistant, said the field has yet to be set, but that the event is projected to attract anywhere from 100 to 130 golfers.
No tee-off time or pairings have been set while waiting additional participants. Once the pairings are finalized, Alston said, players can anticipate a practice round the Friday before the championships, as well as other pretournament events.
The dinners, cocktail parties and socializing are integral aspects of the Club Championship's allure. Last year's men's champion, with his title to defend, is Steve Mabin.
The semiprivate club, in its 15th year in operation, is at 10050 Robert Trent Jones Parkway. Members may go to or call the pro shop at 727-376-6333 for more information.
