According to Charley Reese's June 14 op-ed page column, Barack Obama will not be elected president because he's African American, he's liberal, some black kids are thugs, there's bound to be friction between blacks and whites, he's pro-Israel, and he's pro-gun control.
Now, of the six issues he brought up, three of them are have to do with race. And race is the number-one problem Barack Obama has with older white Americans. Most of them, including Reese, have a hard time accepting an African American as president.
Regarding actual issues, the Republican Party professes to extol conservative values, but there is nothing conservative about foreign wars, federal prescription drug plans, massive federal deficits and federally mandated public education standards such as No Child Left Behind.
The liberals and Democrats gain power when the Republicans abandon conservative values.
And by the way, Reese take note, thugs come in all races and friction exists among people regardless of what race they are.
