Pasco GOP Boss To Run McCain's Campaign Effort In County

NEW PORT RICHEY – Bill Bunting of Hudson will serve as chairman of John McCain's presidential campaign in Pasco County.

Bunting, longtime chairman of the Pasco County Republican Executive Committee, is one of the names with ties to West Pasco on the Florida leadership team the political staff of the presumptive Republican presidential nominee announced Friday.

Educator and state representative John Legg of Port Richey has been named to the McCain campaign's Florida steering committee.

In addition, U.S. Reps. Ginny Brown-Waite of Brooksville and Gus Bilirakis of Palm Harbor are honorary vice chairs of the McCain campaign in Florida.

"This team consists of many of the best political minds in Florida," Buzz Jacobs, Southeast regional campaign manager for McCain's campaign, was quoted as saying in a news release issued by McCain's national campaign headquarters, in Arlington, Va. "We're proud to see leaders from across the state come together to support John McCain."
