Regarding the June 7 op-ed page column by James Hibbs, "McCain Can't Win," you are suppose to suck us in with some interesting thought then hit us with the point of the article. You want us to read it so you have to suck us in a bit first.
You are suppose to say things like, how unfortunate that the major fundraiser for Barack Obama's Senate campaign was just found guilty of multiple counts of corruption –somewhere around $14 million in housing related fraud.
It is reassuring to the Israelis' that the one-term senator believes in change. He has changed his stance on Israel several times. He has changed his mind on meeting with Iran and the fact that Iran, Venezuela and other countries we have challenges in are, as the one-term senator stated, "tiny little countries."
Good journalists never outwardly denounce a candidate. You never know, especially if you are a student, someday you will be looking for a job and when the HR department Googles your name, you never know what the HR person's political beliefs really are. After all, there are Republicans that still must work while the new Dems are "changing" the world.
